Hi, I'm Kayla.
I've been in this business since 2015. Sometimes full-time, sometimes part-time, but I've never fallen out of love with it. I've been lucky to do something that allows me the freedom to ride the ebbs and flow of this life, especially with kids. I started out shooting my own family whenever they'd let me, and once they began to become annoyed with my camera in their face, I figured it might be time to branch out. The years passed and I was able to experience and capture so much love and light from so many families and couples.
My husband Todd and I have been married since 2014 and in 2018 we welcomed our first daughter and created a little family of our own, joined the next year by our second daughter, completing the crew.
My goal in this business is to capture the JOY of your life. I know it can get busy. I KNOW it can be stressful. But, I also know these are the years that we can never get back. The ones we will look back on the most fondly. The cheeks, the rolls, the missing teeth, the baby faces slowly changing year by year. I don't want to forget that, and I know you don't either.

When will we get our photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 4 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story) for portrait sessions and 6-8 weeks for your wedding photos. You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints!
How many pictures will we receive?
For a 8 hours coverage wedding, you will receive between 400 to 600 fully edited images. Portrait sessions typically yield between 40-60 fully edited images.
Can you help us pick a location?
Absolutely! I've been shooting around Charlotte and the surrounding areas for almost a decade. I know a ton of great places for every vibe. I also have a handful of absolutely breath taking mountain locations within 2 hours of Charlotte.

What should I wear!?
I want YOU to shine. Sometimes clothing can help bring out our shine, and sometimes (believe it or not!) it can hide it! At least in photos. I'M LOOKING AT YOU HAWAAIN SHIRTS. I kid. I want to see YOU in your portrait, that's why neutrals and solids are always my go-to. Ultimately the style is up to you and I want to work with your vision for your portraits. I always build outfits for my own sessions starting with the person who starts with the least amount of options (my husband) or the person who is the most critical over how they look (ME!) and build everyone else's outfits around that. I love picking a color from my favorite dress and googling a color palette to give me ideas for colors that would compliment that. If this sounds like a lot of babbling, it's because it is.
